SHIWA Repository connected to myExperiment

We completed a long-waited development on the SHIWA Repository. We connected it to the myExperiment workflow repository.

As a result, users with accounts at the SHIWA Repository can import workflows from myExperiment, add the execution info needed to run the Taverna workflows and execute them on the SHIWA Simulation Platform. User should select the "myExperiment" item on the main menubar to access this new feature.

There are two limitations. First, even if you can import any workflow stored in the myExperiment repo, it is recommended to import only Taverna 1 workflows because we do not support execution of Taverna 2 on the SHIIWA Simulation Platform yet. Second, the current solution enables execution of those Taverna 1 workflows those outputs are files.

Detailed programme of the Summer School 2012 is out

The detailed schedule of the Summer School 2012 is available from the event's website.

Galaxy workflows are supported

From now on Galaxy workflows are supported in the SHIWA Simulation Platform.

The workflow engine interface specification describes how Galaxy workflows should be deployed to GEMLCA. This document is available in the SHIWA Repository. An example workflow implementation has been uploaded to the repository and to GEMLCA, see: Exons-Galaxy-central-1.0.

SHIWA Simulation Platform is available from EGI appDB

To reach out to more users, the SHIWA Simulation Platform has been added to the EGI Application Database.

3rd SHIWA Newsletter

The 3rd SHIWA Newsletter is available for download from here.

Further newsletters can be accessed from the newsletter page.

Memorandum of Understanding with the SCI-BUS project

The Memorandum of Understanding between the SHIWA and SCI-BUS projects has been signed by the technical coordinators of the projects.

Kitti Varga (SHIWA) and Zoltan Farkas (SCI-BUS) are signing the Memorandum of Understanding documents.

The SHIWA repository has been updated

The SHIWA repository has been updated. The new version supports the deployment of workflow implementations to GEMLCA from the repository GUI. The repository can be accessed at the same location at:

The WF Developer, Validator and Admin manual describe the new extensions and the Workflow Engine Interface Guide provides further guidelines.

SHIWA tutorial program is available

The program of the SHIWA tutorial at EGI Community Forum is out.
